Arrival at Kathgodam and drive to Pangot (40 kms – 2 hours). Pangot is a hamlet at 15 kms Nainital. Walking into Pangot is like stepping into a remote Himalayan village. Pangot is a birdwatchers’ paradise has more than 250 species of birds in and around recorded.
Early morning and afternoon / evening walks through the terrace fields into thickly wooded oak forest.
Leave Saattal (35 kms-1 hr). Saattal is a thickly wooded evergreen forest area and is one of the less visited lakes of Kumaon and is a scatterred undeveloped area & is one of the most pleasant destinations for spotting Himalayan bird species. Undertake walks around Sattal area for bird watching.
Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal are two lakes around Sattal within 15 km radius. Forest area around Bhimtal is renowned for its bird species. Drive to these lakes and then undertake walks around the area for bird watching.
Leave for Corbett (75 kms – 2 hours). Corbett National Park is a large area of dense evergreen forest with rivers flowing through and is renowned for having more than 400 species of birds and is a must visit for any bird watcher. Evening Jeep drive to Sitabani range.
Take morning and afternoon walks in the nearby forested areas and riverbeds for Bird watch in.
Morning safari to Bijrani range. Afternoon safari to Durgadevi range. Both ranges are known for their excellent bird watching.
Drive back to Kathgodam.
