Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park, very close to Haridwar, Dehradun and Rishikesh, is an Indian National Park and tiger Reserve in the foothills of Himalayan ranges – called Shivalik. Spreading in area of 820 square kilo meters, it covers three main districts of Uttarakhand named Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal. It is the amalgamation of three sanctuaries Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji on the banks of Ganga.

Rajaji National Park is a home to more than 15 elephants, 15 tigers, 250 Panthers and different other endangered to commonly found animals like wild boar, barking deer, Goral, Bears (Himalayan Black and Sloth), Samhar, Spotted Deer, and different types of birds. By Air: Raja Ji National Park is close to Haridwar on Rishikesh Road where you can reach from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun at the distance of approx 50 km – covered by bus or taxi. Indira Gandhi International Airport is at the distance of approx 250 km from Rajaji Natioanal Park.
By Rail:Nearest railheads to reach Rajaji National Park is Haridwar at the distance of 20 km, Rishikesh at the distance of 18 km and Dehradun at the distance of 50 km. You can take a taxi or bus from any of the railhead to reach.
By Road:There are regular buses and taxies from Delhi and other cities to Haridwar and Rishikesh. Rajaji National Park on the way from Haridwar to Rishikesh. You can reach by your car too.
A route from Haridwar to Dehradun also passes through Rajaji National Park.
Best Time to Visit Rajaji National Park
You can explore the beautiful national park all round the year. However, avoid months of June as weather conditions are hot; while monsoon months are also not worthy to see. From October to May is the best time to see Rajaji National Park.
